Faculty Resilience is not just another network. It’s a collaborative community that emphasizes meaningful conversations. We focus on small-group interactions that allow us to get to know and trust each other so we can help each other achieve our personal and professional objectives.
The purpose of the community is to help its members engage in a series of self-selected, small group conversations and collaborations that typically consist of 3 to 5 members.
Community membership is limited to 150 female, tenure-track engineering faculty at leading research institutions in the United States.
There are currently around 15 members representing institutions including Penn State, Oregon State, UCLA, University of Utah, University of New Mexico, University of Illinois, Virginia Tech, Mississippi State, University of Connecticut, and Montana State University.
- We achieve our individual goals together.
- We value conversation over content.
- We do not engage in self-promotion.
- We observe the Chatham House rule.
- We embrace diversity.
- We strive to be our best selves.
Membership costs $79/month or $790/year after a one-month free trial.
How to Join
Join our community in two steps: apply and subscribe.
The purpose of the application process is to answer your questions and understand your membership objectives. The process can take 5 to 15 minutes, depending on whether you choose the Zoom interview option.
Complete the form below and click Continue to proceed to the short interview:
- What are three outcomes you would most like from participating in Faculty Resilience?
- We advocate sharing experiences over giving advice. What experiences might you share that could benefit other female faculty?
We recommend you select the VideoAsk continuation option to easily record your answers using video (preferred) or audio (if you are having a bad hair day). Alternatively, you may choose to schedule a Zoom meeting with Laura Black.
Within a day or two of completing your interview, you’ll receive an email directing you to our membership subscription page. There, you will be prompted to enter your payment information. Once subscribed, you’ll have immediate access to our private network.
Start the application process by completing this form and clicking the Continue button.
